Chinese

•  Adopt ‘student-based learning approach' supported by a

Professor Kwok Sze Lok from Mainland China

•  Use Mandarin as medium of instruction

•  Focus on vocabulary building in P1

•  Recognize nearly 2000 words in the year

•  Focus on reading

English

•  Adopt the ‘Primary Literacy Programme' supported by EMB

•  Focus on all skills – reading, writing. listening and speaking

•  Adopt the teaching of phonics

Mathematics

•  Adopt ‘student-based learning approach' supported by Professor Kwok Sze Lok from Mainland China

•  Stress the importance and integration of ‘experience, recognition and application'

•  Develop pupils' sense of numerical and thinking skills, creativity and daily application.

•  Chinese and English classes will be taught by two teachers in order to provide greater support to the pupils.

•  English lessons will be co-taught by a native-speaking teacher and a local English teacher.
